Meet our Staff

Dave joined the staff of ACC in November of 2005. His primary responsibilities include teaching on Sunday mornings, providing leadership for the elders and staff, and championing the vision and values of ACC. He is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, Trinity International University, and Moody Graduate School. Before coming to ACC Dave was involved in youth ministry for 24 years.

He is the proud husband of Karen and father to four adult children: Becky (Matt), Emily, Lacey (Daryn), and Micah (Angelika). Dave enjoys hanging out with his dog, Roger, playing Scrabble, cheering for the Chicago Cub‍‍‍s, Bears, and Blackhawks, and spending time with his family - especially his grandkids! His long term project is section hiking the Appalachian Trail - only about 1,800 miles to go.‍‍‍‍‍‍

Patrick serves as an assistant principal at Stratford Middle School in Bloomingdale. He and his wife, Christina, have an adorable little girl, Marly. He enjoys performing and listening to music, managing multiple fantasy baseball teams, gardening, traveling, and trying new foods.

Patrick is passionate about welcoming and getting to know every person that walks through the doors of our church!‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍

‍‍‍Patrick Dawson‍‍‍

‍‍‍Jim has been attending ACC since 1992. He and his wife Nancy are proud parents of four very busy, sports oriented kids: Allison, Annie, Matt, and Mitch. Jim is a self-described "sports nut" (Go Sox!!!) and ‍‍‍loves coaching his children's teams when he can. His favorite sports moment was being in attendance at game 2 of the '05 World Series when Scott Podsednik hit a walk-off homerun!

He enjoys the opportunity to be a servant leader to the people of ACC and the surrounding community and seeing the life-changing power of Jesus Christ in peoples lives. He looks forward to the day when his boys will be the first brothers to play pitcher and catcher for the White Sox at the same time.‍‍‍‍‍‍

‍‍‍Jim Johnson‍‍‍

‍‍‍Jordan is married to Vickie and works at Leica Biosystems as an IT Senior Enterprise Architect. He enjoys grilling and barbecuing (pulled pork is his specialty), designing electronic control systems for around the house, playing video games, and watching football on Sunday afternoons. In the past he worked as a professional actor in the Cleveland area where he performed pieces onstage as well as murder mystery dinner events.

God has given him a heart for shepherding and encouraging others. He is energized by seeing people cross the line of faith and then grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus.

‍‍‍Jordan Kerr‍‍‍

Jim is a software developer at Discover Card Financial Services. He and his wife, Su, have two sons, Nate and Dan, and two daughters, Margo and Melody.

‍‍‍Jim loves the outdoors - camping, hiking, biking, and running. Look for him during the summer months biking to work. He also likes to cook. (He is a former ACC Chili Cook-off winner!) Jim and Su love working with kids and are the Awana directors at ACC.

‍‍‍Jim Ray‍‍‍

Ken is an Account Manager at CDW where he works with his base of corporate customers on their IT hardware, software, and services needs. He has also played for both the Cubs and White Sox. He’s been married to Gail for 30 years and has two amazing grown children, Greg (Moriah) and Kim.

‍‍‍He enjoys writing and performing music, primarily on guitar. He’s performed the National Anthem on solo guitar at both Wrigley Field and US Cellular Fie‍‍‍ld (see above). He also enjoys reading and running - and does neither very fast. He is thrilled to be able to see people grow in their walk with Christ and have their lives changed!

Meet our ‍‍‍Elders‍‍‍

‍‍‍‍‍‍Chris is a 2005 graduate of Trinity International University in Deerfield, IL. He's married to Lisa, and they are the proud pare‍‍‍nts ‍‍‍of Rachel, Josiah, Abigail, and Micah. They also have a dog, Toby. Chris is an avid runner and triathlete. In his spare time he enjoys reading, backpacking, and spending time with his family. He's a devout Cubs and Bears fan and has been known to drop everything for free tickets.

Chris came on board here in 2006. His primary responsibilities include teaching at youth group and leading teams of adults to work with both youth and children.

Adam loves playing music, working with people, and helping create a space for people to worship our God! He graduated from Madison Media Institute in Wisconsin with a degree in Recording Arts. Adam and his wife, Alexandra, joined us in November 2017.

He likes woodworking, hiking, watching ‍‍‍documentaries, and playing with his border collie mix, Oliver, and his Siamese mix, Luna. He also likes to travel and has toured most of the United States with Christian pop and rock artists.

‍‍‍‍‍‍Jim wears a lot of different hats at ACC, overseeing areas including facilities, technology, finances, policies, legal matters, and publicity. In some of these areas he gets directly involved, while in others he leads a team. Since 2003, he has worked hard behind the scenes to make sure the ministries of ACC have maximum impact.

Jim is married to Elissa. He continues to work part-time as a bench jeweler. He likes to knit, crochet, garden, and has enjoyed computer programming since before he entered kindergarten! Jim has been involved in mission trips all across the US as well as Canada, Brazil, Kenya, and South Africa.

Christine is responsible for Sunday morning running smoothly for kids and volunteers, directs Upward Basketball and Cheerleading, and oversees other kids’ programs such as Awana and Kids’ Camp. She has two kids of her own, Peter and Thomas, and a wonderful husband, Chris (not a typo).

‍‍‍Christine has a Bachelor of Science ‍‍‍in Marketing from Northeastern Illinois University. She speaks four languages, the first being Greek. She likes cooking, baking, skiing, sports, crafting, and spending time with her family. Her favorite thing about her job is interacting with volunteers and families and sharing the love of Jesus.

Who types faster than a speeding bullet, answers the phone in a warm, professional tone, and knows where to find the key to the food pantry? That would be Carolyn, on staff since July of 2004.

‍‍‍Carolyn has a handsome husband named Chuck and three grown kids: Tim (Andrea), Ellen, and Andy. Her interests include ‍‍‍reading, hiking, and bike riding.

‍‍‍Secretary‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍

Simon began his role as youth ministry intern in September 2016. He’s a student at Trinity International University where he’s studying Christian Ministries (Youth Emphasis), Biblical Studies, and Communications. He's married to Elizabeth, and he expects to graduate in May 2019.

His primary responsibility is with our middle school youth group (The Rock). He teaches Sunday school and on Thursday night leads games, facilitates small groups, and teaches‍‍‍‍‍‍ the lesson. In his ‍‍‍spare time he enjoys playing any kind of sport - football, basketball, and wrestling being his favorites. The Michigan Wolverines and Detroit Lions are his favorite teams, and he watches every game. He also enjoys spending time with friends and family playing cards and board games.‍‍‍

‍‍‍Tim and Beth serve in a church called Vision in the Word of God, focusing on discipleship and teaching. Tim also teaches at Sofala Bible Institute on the BA degree program. Beth works on translation projects in the Cindau language, producing Bible study material and children’s Sunday school lessons. Their passion is to encourage healthy churches and strong families.‍‍‍

‍‍‍Serving with ‍‍‍Wycliffe Bible Translators in Papua New Guinea.

Since 1988 Jerry and Sue have been working with the people who speak the Nali language on Manus Island in Papua New Guinea. Currently they are also training others so that people from over a dozen more languages from Manus Province, PNG, can work together on Bible translation and language development in their own languages.

Zak and Laura (with Anna and Ty) recently began serving in Papua New Guinea. They are involved in Bible translation and Literacy, helping to give Papua New Guineans the opportunity to read the Scriptures in their own languages.

For 25 years the Nystroms have served in the coastal village of Arop, Papua New Guinea. They recently returned to the US to care for aging parents‍‍‍ but continue to‍‍‍ work with the translators there via internet.

Their desire is to see the Word of God change the lives of tribal people who previously never had access to it. They are currently working at the Florida office of Ethnos 360. Brion and Annette have three children - Eli, Jonah, and Liviana.

Meet our Missionaries‍‍‍

Serving with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Florida.

‍‍‍For 17 ye‍‍‍ars the Tabbs served in eastern Africa, mostly in Uganda. In 2007 they returned to the United Sates where Waller works as a translation consultant to Ugandan translation teams. He works with them remotely using the internet and by making several trips to Uganda each year. ‍‍‍‍‍‍
