Dave joined the staff of ACC in November of 2005. His primary responsibilities include teaching on Sunday mornings, providing leadership for the elders and staff, and championing the vision and values of ACC. He is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, Trinity International University, and Moody Graduate School. Before coming to ACC Dave was involved in youth ministry for 24 years.

He is the proud husband of Karen and father to four adult children: Becky (Matt), Emily, Lacey (Daryn), and Micah (Angelika). Dave enjoys hanging out with his dog, Roger, playing Scrabble, cheering for the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks, and spending time with his family - especially his grandkids! His long term project is section hiking the Appalachian Trail - only about 1,800 miles to go.



Chris Modrzejewski
Pastor of Youth & Children

Chris is a 2005 graduate of Trinity International University in Deerfield, IL. He is married to Lisa, and they are the proud parents of Rachel, Josiah, and Abigail. They also have two dogs, Toby and Leah. Chris is an avid runner and triathlete. He enjoys competing in marathons and long distance triathlons. In his spare time he enjoys reading, backpacking, and spending time with his wife and kids. He's a devout Chicago Cubs and Bears fan and has been known to drop everything for free tickets.

Having quite a bit of Starbucks experience, both as an employee and customer, Chris is considered our resident “coffee expert.” Chris came on board as Student Ministry Pastor in January of 2006 and went full-time in July 2006 assuming the additional role of Children Ministry Pastor. His primary responsibilities include teaching at youth group and leading teams of adults to work with both youth and children.


Sabrina Massey
Interim Worship Arts Director



With the help of an incredible volunteer team, Sabrina works to make Sunday mornings happen -  music, sound, slides, lighting, etc. She ensures that the right people are in place to create a joyful and reverent environment to worship in. It’s something she love’s and loves sharing with others.

Sabrina and her husband, Brandon, have an adorable daughter, Adeline. She has B.S. in Psychology from University of Illinois and a Master in Social Work from Loyola University. Her hobbies are cooking, reading, making Adeline laugh, advocating for the rights of others, volunteering, helping others succeed, and she's 100% Egyptian (OK, that's not a hobby, but it is an interesting fact).



Jim Young
Director of Operations

Jim wears a lot of different hats at ACC, overseeing areas including facilities, technology, finances, policies, legal matters, and publicity. In some of these areas he gets directly involved, while in others he leads a team. Since 2003, he has worked hard behind the scenes to make sure the ministries of ACC have maximum impact.

Jim is married to Elissa. He continues to work part-time as a bench jeweler. He likes to knit, crochet, garden, and has enjoyed computer programming since before he entered kindergarten! Jim has been involved in mission trips all across the US as well as Canada, Brazil, Kenya, and South Africa.


Christine Dunkle
Children’s Ministry Director


Christine is responsible for Sunday morning running smoothly for kids and volunteers, directs Upward Basketball and Cheerleading, and oversees other kids’ programs such as Awana and Kids’ Camp. She has two kids of her own, Peter and Thomas, and a wonderful husband, Chris (not a typo).

Christine has a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Northeastern Illinois University. She speaks four languages, the first being Greek. She likes cooking, baking, skiing, sports, crafting, and spending time with her family. Her favorite thing about her job is interacting with volunteers and families and sharing the love of Jesus.



Carolyn Eiter


Who types faster than a speeding bullet, answers the phone in a warm, professional tone, and knows where to find the key to the food pantry? That would be Carolyn, on staff since July of 2004.

Carolyn has a handsome husband named Chuck and three grown kids: Tim (Andrea), Ellen, and Andy. Her interests include reading, hiking, and bike riding.



Dan Grueber
Technical Director


Dan joined our staff in April 2016 as the Stage Design/Lighting/Sound/Visuals Guy working with the worship leader to support the best possible worship experience on Sunday mornings. He's a graduate of the University of Toledo with a degree in Marketing. He and his wife, Mandi, have a beautiful daughter, Avery, and are expecting a boy in August.

Dan is a musician who also has a variety of other creative hobbies including furniture building and screen printing. He oversees a portion of a program for the state of Illinois called Destination Imagination, a creative problem solving competition for kids, that he also competed in. His favorite part of his job is using the skills God gave him – and playing with cool tech toys!



Simon Karel
Youth Ministry Intern


Simon began his role as youth ministry intern in September 2016. He’s a student at Trinity International University where he’s studying Christian Ministries (Youth Emphasis), Biblical Studies, and Communications. He recently married his fiancee, Elizabeth, and he expects to graduate in May 2019.

His primary responsibility is with our middle school youth group (Pit Stop) on Thursday nights by leading games, facilitating small groups, and teaching the lesson. In his spare time he enjoys playing any kind of sport - football, basketball, and wrestling being his favorites. The Michigan Wolverines and Detroit Lions are his favorite teams, and he watches every game. He also enjoys spending time with friends and family playing cards and board games.
